Mersey Travel Case Study

Merseytravel’s partnership with Gap Consulting drives effective learning through flexible CRM solution and HR and learning portals.

Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority, with responsibility for planning, delivering and maintaining all network transport across Merseyside. Its vision is to be a world class organisation delivering world class transport. With its people at the heart of its success, it employs 966 staff across many diverse job roles, including many shift and peripatetic workers.

As in many public sector organisations, Merseytravel was faced with the prospect of making big efficiency cost savings across the business. The Learning Team, with its responsibility for the delivery of the learning and development needs of staff across the organisation, was looking to automate many of its heavy paper- based business processes as well as to reduce duplication of effort.

Choosing Gap

During the procurement process where Merseytravel received specifications from around 15 organisations, Gap Consulting was selected for its flexibility, its proven delivery capabilities and the HR and learning portals that would help to enhance the end user experience.

In addition, the organisation already used Microsoft technology such as Outlook, so it made sense to move to its Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution.

“We felt that Gap Consulting demonstrated the same values and work ethics as Merseytravel. Their understanding of our business processes and what we were trying to achieve came across very strongly.”
