With the introduction of Microsoft CRM 4.0 Rollup 11 the Microsoft CRM 4.0 Outlook buttons now appear on the ribbon (before Rollup 11 they appeared on the Office 2010 add-ins menu). Read the following extract from the Microsoft CRM 4.0 Rollup 11 KB article; “The Microsoft Dynamics CRM buttons are displayed on the Add-ins tab. You expect the buttons to be displayed on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM ribbon or on the Home tab in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook 2010.” Technorati Tags: Outlook Client,Office 2010,Ribbon
I’ve started to receive the following error whilst trying to manually track an email being sent to a customer. Screenshot of the error received in the application log. An error occurred while promoting a Microsoft CRM e-mail message. Restart Microsoft Outlook and try again. HR=0x80040237. Context=. Function=CMailItemHelper::HrPromoteMailItemInCrm. Line=1668. It seems many other people have the same problem and that Microsoft have acknowledged it as a defect which was introduced through client rollup 4. Apparently a workaround to the problem is to downgrade to rollup 3.
